Nicole A. Cheskey


Nicole Cheskey attended the University of Michigan where she received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Classics in 2009. She then earned her Juris Doctor Degree from The University of Notre Dame in 2012. During her time at The University of Notre Dame she served as an executive board member for the Legal Women’s Forum and also held a chair position on the Student Bar Association. Before joining the law firm of LaLuzerne & Smith, Ltd., she worked at the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office. Throughout her four years at the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office, Nicole prosecuted an array of cases including traffic matters, DUIs, domestic battery, and other misdemeanors. Nicole has also screened hundreds of felony cases during her time at the State’s Attorney’s Office and presented those cases to the Grand Jury. Currently Nicole prosecutes traffic, DUI, and ordinance violations. In addition, Nicole practices family law, represents individuals on orders of protection, and has experience responding to Freedom of Information Act requests. Nicole is an active member of the Lake County Bar Association and the co-chair of the lawyers in the classroom committee.
