ELIN SHOBACK graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2014 and received her Juris Doctor Degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2018. Ms. Shoback was an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office from 2018-2021. During her time there, she tried numerous bench and jury trials at both the misdemeanor and felony level. In her time at LaLuzerne & Smith, Ms. Shoback has successfully tried numerous cases both at bench and jury trials. In 2023, she was the first municipal prosecutor to be named “Prosecutor of the Year” by the Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists.
When not representing several communities as local prosecutor, she uses her extensive trial and negotiation experience in a variety of estate planning, real estate, and probate matters. She is a guardian ad litem for disabled adults and minors in both the Lake and McHenry County probate courts. She has also participated as a GAL and attorney for the respondent in several guardianship hearings.
